Neighborhood Club Thrift Shop is now located at 17888 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe (between Rivard and Washington; near Valente's). We thank you for your patience and continued support of the Neighborhood Club Thrift Shop during this transition!

In the late 1920's, Marion Jarves Alger and a few friends founded the Neighborhood Thrift Shop to help needy residents in this area.  That was the beginning of what has been a successful local non-profit business ever since.  The Thrift Shop has moved to several different places over the years but has always had the same purpose - to provide money for the Neighborhood Club and good low-cost merchandise for the customers. 

Thrift shop is run by a small professional staff along with numerous volunteers who have a choice of  jobs to perform within the store.

The Thrift Shop welcomes the following items for donation:
(Donations will be accepted beginning December 1)

• Gently worn, stain free clothing, linens,
• Shoes, boots, slippers, purses, jewelry,
• Home accessories, lamps-both floor and table,
• Seasonal items (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, etc.),
• Books (less than 8 years old and in good condition),
• Complete board games and puzzles

We cannot accept the following items:

• Broken or chipped glassware,
• Toys and stuffed animals,
• VHS Tapes, Cassettes, Albums,
• Textbooks, Periodicals, Magazines,
• Paperback books over 8 years old,
• Car Seats, Cribs, Playpens, High Chairs,
• Exercise Equipment, Sporting Goods,
• Used Undergarments,
• Appliances and electronics,
